Famous 56 Jingles @ XM Sixties Channel

WFIL is featured Friday on XM Channel 6 – the Sixties. As Terry Motormouth of the golden years of WFIL – The Famous 56 in the Cradle of Liberty, XM will air airchecks, recordings, actual playlists and of course the Famous 56 PAMS Jingles.

WFIL used some of the greatest jingles ever produced by PAMS Productions, Dallas, Texas. Some were syndicated, while others, such as" The Philadelphia Story " were custom packages. PAMS jingles were used exclusively, until 1974. Due to the demise of PAMS, WFIL, always looking for a new sound, purchased 2 packages from The William B. Tanner Co, as well as a package from TM Century Productions. These were used throughout 1974 and 1975 ,along with a new PAMS package, called "Philly Flo."

WFIL was able to combine great music, an exceptionally talented air staff, a tight format, and great jingles to become the radio leader in the Delaware Valley.

Listen to a montage of WFIL jingles featuring the “THE PHILADELPHIA STORY”, the station’s first custom package from PAMS and Series 37 resings. These materials are a copyrighted property of PAMS. Many thanks to Famous56.com and PhillyRadio.com for providing the jingles and other resources. Digg!
