Nearly 8 years after DWKC broke out from the CHR mold, Radio Mindanao Network updated its FM arm with a new personality. iFM went head to head with other established Hot AC Station in Metro Manila and around the country. But iFM didn’t want to sound like the Hot AC stations. Their’s was a new approach capturing new age groups and even economic brackets to the more mass appealing format. iFM didn’t want to take chances and bought two packages from TM Century in early 2000s. The jingle packages were Detroit’s DRQ and Hartford’s Hot AC. Recently, however, iFM dropped the use of TM jingles and decided to craft their own Pinoy flavored jingles. In 2004, iFM began airing Filipino jingles with the famous tag – “Ang FM ko ay….” . In 2006, iFM strengthened its role in the radio battlefield with a new set of jingles. They even had a pop artist singing one of their jingles that go “iFM pwedeng, pwedeng, pwede, kahit na anong mangyari ” .
It was an instant success. And soon after, people are beginning to sing along with their catchy jingles that range from pop, rock, RNB to acoustic. TM Jingles were not at all dumped, as Sunday and other weekend programs now utilized much of the TM Century Jingles.
