How to Stream Your Radio On iPhone, BlackBerry and Android Phones

Posted by RadioJinglesVIP on August 25, 2011 at 9:20 AM

According to a recent survey, among the top 10 gadgets replaced by smart phones is radio.

A separate report also revealed that there is 48% increase of mobile online radio listening this year than in 2009.

So what does this mean for your radio?

It means it’s time for your station to go mobile. Your station must be accessible by your listeners even if they are not in front of their PCs.

Streaming your radio station on popular smart phone platforms like iPhone, BlackBerry and Android Phones are easy.

1. Create an app from scratch

 – this may take sometime, but it is worth it. You get your station to stream on mobile phones, plus you have learned another skill, and that is developing apps for smart phones.

2. Hire an app developer

 – if you don’t have time and have money to spend, outsourcing an app programmer will save you.

3. Use free apps creator

 – there are plenty of free apps makers on the net. Click here for the top free apps maker

4. Get your station listed on directories

 – Nokia, iTunes and ShoutCast are just some of the internet directories that let you submit stations. These websites usually have an app or mobile streaming capability.

The downside though with directories is that you have plenty of competitions to contend with. If you have your own app, you can  just let your listeners download the app and presto.

5. Ask your internet radio host -

Your internet radio host could be offering a mobile streaming version of your station. The internet radio hosting company ShoutCheap.com now gives radio stations the capability to stream any radio station without having to create an app.

The service is available for iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry phones.

The radio station Blazin100.com has just signed up for a mobile streaming for smart phones, click here.
